Approaching God’s throne

Father, we worship You. There is no power above you and nothing can stop Your will. We approach Your throne boldly in the name of Jesus, covered by His blood and filled with Your Spirit. We come with expectancy as children on the inside, heirs to the Kingdom and joint heirs with Jesus, who has paid the price for our forgiveness and has clothed us with His righteousness. Thank you that You hear us always and Your answers are yes and amen. Father, You have created us for this day and this time in history according to Your omniscient design. We are your servants for these last days, and we receive with gladness the yoke You have placed upon us and the call that You have issued. 

The enemies have amassed around us. The false prophets speak clever words of deception, targeting itching ears they can deceive. The rulers of this world in these last days are becoming more violent toward You, Your servants and the gospel we preach. They desire to silence us and to keep us from walking and preaching in Your name. Father hear their threats and stretch out Your hand to us that we may speak boldly and that the boldness of the truth we speak will shake them more violently than any of their threats could shake us to fear. Jesus release to us resurrection power to set the captive free, to confirm the word we preach with signs and wonders and to show them that only You hold all power and authority. Be exalted above all the earth and all the authorities of the earth and may the work we do and the gospel we preached be established forever. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Prayer for renewal

Father, I do trust You. I trust Your love for me is unwavering, because Your word confirms it. Your Word became flesh, dwelt among us and suffered the penalty for my sin which I committed against You. Such mercy, grace and love! I believe Your Word and I make an oath that Your truth will shape my every decision and plan. Your Word indeed is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path, lead me. I will confirm this oath by crucifying my flesh through fasting and prayer and Holy Spirit I will submit to Your work of sanctification, as You conform me daily to the very image of Christ. Forgive me Lord for worshipping my emotions, my fears and my offenses. Teach me to release others from the responsibility of sin, just as You have released me. Day by day I will follow where You lead. I will not say tomorrow I will go here or do this, rather I will consult You and say, “If You will Lord I will go here or do this”. As I continue daily to search Your Word, renew my mind, change my world view and I will listen for Your voice, and I will follow. Wash my feet daily so that my walk will be clean from the filth and the influence of this sinful world I walk in. Give me my daily bread this day, it will suffice my needs today and tomorrow I will trust You again. Renew my mind so I might know Your voice and do nothing except what You show me. Thank You Father that Your Word assures me that He who began a good work in me is faithful to complete it, in Jesus’ name, amen! 

Prayer for personal revival

Father thank you that you hear us always. Thank you for your mercy and your grace. Thank you that your word is true, and your promises are sure. Heaven and earth will pass away, but your word will never pass away, nor can it be altered, changed or denied. Jesus, keep me close to your side and attentive to your call. I thank you that I am sealed by your Spirit and He leads me into all truth. Forgive me Lord for all those times I have strayed onto my own path, following my own ideas, spending the time and resources you have anointed me with promoting my own good intentions. Help me to redeem the times and apply your wisdom to my heart. My desire is to do only what it is that you are doing and instruct me to do as I closely follow your lead. Jesus I still call upon your grace to send an awakening, beginning with your church. Revive our appetites for the things of your kingdom, a passion to rescue the dying and give us a disdain for the things of this world and the desires of our flesh. If there is still time Lord send to us a revival and help us to reap a last day harvest of souls, so that you are glorified, your children are edified, your will is accomplished, and your enemy becomes your footstool! Also, Lord, so that our works are not burned away like hay and stubble. Father, we ask all this in Jesus’ name, amen. 

Prayer for an awakening

I love to read the Prophet Ezekiel! God used him as a living parable. He literally illustrated God’s word to Israel by acting out strange messages and performing outrages and often comical antics. One of those occurrences are recorded in Ezekiel 12. God instructs Ezekiel to prophesy of the coming judgement because of their idolatry. Babylon was going to break through the walls at night and carry the king, the people and all their “stuff” off to the land of the Chaldeans. God told Ezekiel to get his “stuff” and dig a hole through the wall, then at night to drag all his “stuff” through the wall, then back, and to repeat the process until the people finally notice and ask, “What in the world are you doing?!” Ezekiel then gave them the message of impending judgement.  

Yet the people weren’t moved at all by the warning. Most people just said “Yeah, yeah yeah, blah, blah, blah…we heard it all before. They in fact had a proverb that said, “The days are prolonged, and the vision faileth.” In modern dialog they were saying “We’ve been hearing that for years! If God really is warning us, God’s judgement will be years from now.”  But in verse 23 God tells Ezekiel to declare to the people that time was up! The prophesy is upon them, and they will no longer mock God, ignore His warning or speak that proverb any longer.  

I think the same word, written almost 3000 years ago, is as contemporary as tomorrow’s headlines. Many scoffers (even in the church) have risen and are poo-pooing the warning of the soon coming rapture of the church and the seven years of great tribulation that will be faced by those who are left behind. Many are saying “Sure, sure, we’ve been hearing that for years.” Many are even denying the rapture and claim it is a false prophesy that was made up only a few hundred years ago. But the truth is….TIME IS UP! God’s wrath and final judgement is going to be poured out before this generation, which has seen all these signs appear, passes away. 

This is why I’m asking you saints to pray!  

Pray for all those who deny and mock God’s warning through His word and the signs of the time. 

Pray for those who are lost and are blind people being led by blind leaders 

Pray for a final last day harvest, the fields are white to harvest and there is no time to waste! The night is coming, the sun is setting and soon we will be called to come and rest. We must work while there is still some light! 

Father, your word assures us in 2nd Chronicles 7:14, that if we, your people, will first humble ourselves, secondly seek Your face and pray, then above all turn from our wicked ways, that you will hear our cry and pour out your mercy and heal our land. So, we humbly approach your throne of grace in our time of need pleading the blood of Jesus. No merit of our own, we recognize no work we’ve done, only the work of Calvary’s cross and the power of Your resurrection. We need both the cleansing of that blood and the resurrection power to heal us from our depravity. 

 We confess that our nation suffers from the depravity that comes from drinking the poison that flows from the cisterns of sexual immorality, idolatry, political correctness and a woke laden culture that seeks to eliminate You and Your truth from our society. We as a nation have run after and embraced the demonic demands of seducing spirits, perverse spirits, lying spirits, spirits of bondage and spirits of divination. We confess that our nation has rejected your grace and has despised your commandments and has traded a pursuit of your holiness for the base desires that fulfill the appetites of our flesh. 

 We, the body of Christ, confess that our nation suffers these afflictions because we have not so shined our light that men may see our good works and glorify our Father. Instead, we have compromised our pursuit of Your holiness because it has been more important to us that the world loves us, than that we display your holy image. We have compromised with Sodomites and succumbed to the demands of the sexually perverse and gender confused, simply to keep the seats filled and the lights on. We trusted our presumptions, our fears and our intellectual pursuits and watered down Your holy gospel to comfort itching ears. We have idolized fame and fortune. We have desired to be seen above displaying You and Your Kingdom to a lost and dying world. You came to seek and save the lost, we have sought our own prosperity.  We ask Your forgiveness and plead the blood of Jesus. We turn from our idols. Help us to live a life of repentance that embraces the crosses that You set before each of us and strengthen us to follow hard after You.  Lord we are asking You to heal our land.  Deliver us from those who are bent on removing our freedoms and silencing our voices from preaching your gospel. Heal us from our compromise. Anoint us to stand firm in the face of controversy and be the voice of truth in a dark culture that is deceived and blind. Help us to stand in Your holiness so we can walk in your resurrection power. Father put your healing in our hands! 

Father, we cry out for those who are afflicted with physical infirmities. Surely You have borne our sickness and infirmities and by Your stripes we are healed! We pray healing for those who suffer from with cancer, lupus, skin afflictions, heart disease, high blood pressure, bleeding conditions, ulcers, digestive illnesses, liver diseases, diabetes, allergies, nasal infections, repeating infections, sleep apnea, breathing problems, COPD, asthma.

We pray for healing for our special needs community members. We ask that you restore bodies, minds and hope. Surround them with anointed care givers with healing in their hands and mercy in their hearts. Bring peace, assurance and continued hope to their parents and family members. We pray that you pour out to them the fruit of patience and long suffering. We ask that you send them support groups filled with your anointed servants.  

For the mentally ill, the depressed, those who have dementia, bring them to a renewed mind and a restored hope. We lift from them the spirit of heaviness. Cover them with a garment of praise to You. We take authority over tormenting spirits that would plague their minds and souls, to steal their joy and dash their hope. We pull down strongholds of spirits of infirmity, deaf and dumb spirits and spirits of heaviness.  

Father, for the men and women that suffer the depression and guilt caused by the sin of abortion, bring deliverance and healing. Help them receive your grace and forgiveness. Comfort them and restore their hope and joy and may they find it in a restored relationship with You. We take authority over tormenting spirits that would plague their minds and souls, to steal their joy and dash their hope. We come against strongholds of seducing spirits, lying spirits and spirits that accuse and bring condemnation. 

Father, we pray for the couples who have physical difficulties conceiving children, for the women who have difficulties carrying and baring children. Bring healing and ease their fear. Draw them close and assure them by Your Spirit that You are sovereign and in control of all things and are a God who is touched by the feelings of our infirmities. We ask for a special healing for those mothers and fathers who have suffered the pain of miscarriages. Protect these precious ladies from the lies of the enemy that they are not worthy or that they are at fault. Comfort the broken hearted and minister to those who are angry at You, God for allowing these afflictions to occur. Pour out to them the oil of joy. We take authority over tormenting spirits that would plague their minds and souls, to steal their joy and dash their hope. We pull down strongholds of spirits of heaviness, jealous spirits, lying spirits and spirits of fear. 

 Father for those in the bondage to drugs and alcohol. We are asking that you pour out mercy. Your Spirit brings freedom. We break the slavery that spirits of bondage afflict on them. We ask that you raise up anointed leaders who will stop the flow of drugs into our nation. We ask your judgment to be poured out on the Cartels and the nations that support them. We ask for anointed counselors who will not shrink from their call nor compromise the proclamation of the gospel of peace. Put deliverance in their hands to pull down strongholds and cast out spirits the enslave your creation to drugs and alcohol. We pray for the victims and the family members of those addicted. Send to them support groups filled with your anointed servants to counsel, encourage and guide. Protect them from further harm, restore their trust, help them to forgive and give them wisdom to minister. We take authority over tormenting spirits that would plague their minds and souls, to steal their joy and dash their hope. We pull down strongholds of spirits of bondage, seducing spirits, familiars sent on assignment and spirits of divination. Break the soul ties in their lives that keep them rooted to past hurts, afflictions and appetites. 

 Surround the afflicted with God loving care takers. Raise up doctors, nurses, caretakers that love you, fear you, honor you and obey you. Pour out to them gifts of healing, both natural and supernatural. Raise researchers and show them the mysteries and the hidden secrets of your creation that ministers healing to the human body, soul and spirit.  

We rejoice, Lord, in Your love for us. We thank you that every tear we cry is known and saved. We are thankful that our afflictions do not affect us as they afflict the lost. We rejoice our light affliction pale in comparison to the joy that is before us, and that there is indeed joy in the morning. We trust that the trying of our faith produces patience and when patience has its perfect work that we need nothing. Thank you for hearing our cry, thank you for healing our minds, our emotions, our bodies, our spirits and thank you for healing our land. 

Prayer for Israel and the peace of Jerusalem 

In these last days, and as the day of the Lord draws ever closer, the adversary and the enemy of God’s chosen people is stirring his forces with the goal of eliminating God’s people. Antisemitism has always been  satan’s major weapon to stir his servants and cause them to spew hatred and murder against both Israel and the church. But in these final hours antisemitism has spread beyond the geographical boundaries of the middle east and has spread through every country and continent, including Canada and throughout the streets and college campuses in the United States. God promised Abraham that he would be the father of nations, and that through his seed would come a chosen people to bring the Messiah into the world; to fulfill the promise He made to Adam and Eve in the garden. From that day a general in the kingdom of darkness determined to stop Messiah from coming to the earth. This demonic power is introduced to us in Daniel chapter 10. Daniel fasted and prayed for three weeks; his desire was for God to reveal to him God’s plan for bringing Messiah into the world to set His people free. From the first day God dispatched a messenger angel to Daniel, but it took the angel three weeks to reach Daniel. This angel explains to Daniel that he was delayed because a demonic power, the Prince of Persia, withstood him. This demonic power has dominion over the geographical region and atmosphere over that region known as Persia. That region today is the region of the middle east from Iran through Syria. This demon today is identified as Allah.  Allah has stirred generals with the weapon of antisemitism from the days of Abraham with intentions of eliminating God’s chosen people, first to prevent Messiah from coming to earth, and today to prevent Messiah from returning to earth. These demonic servants have included generals such as Mohammed, the Ottoman Empire, Adolf Hitler and today the Ayatollah Kemanie. Iran has funded and given birth to terrorists’ groups including Al Quadi, Hamas, Hutes, Al Shabab, Hizballah and many other satellites of the Islamic state. The Prince of Persia, Allah, is the enemy of God and His chosen people Israel. It is time for the church to understand that Allah is the enemy we face and this is the war we are called to. Only we who are born again have the power and authority to stand against Allah and to render him powerless over God’s chosen people Israel. That is because only we who are born again are possessed by God the Holy Spirit and greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Only we can pull down this stronghold with weapons of warfare that are not carnal, but mighty through God. Only we have the restraining power that keeps satan at bay. Let’s pray.   Father, we pray and bring before You Your chosen people Israel. We thank You Father that we have been grafted into the vine, and because Jesus has saved us, we are adopted into the family and have a share in all the blessings of the covenant You gave to Father Abraham. Because of this we stand in solidarity with Israel, we pray that You will remember Your promise to Father Abraham in Genesis 12:3 and bless those who bless him and curse those who curse him. We ask for divine protection for Israel. We ask that you subdue and turn back all groups and individuals that hate Israel and desire their destruction. We ask that You raise up warriors and leaders that will stand firmly against antisemitism and that our love for Isreal will destroy their hatred for them. Father it is Allah that is our enemy, not the people he has made captive servants. Therefor we are asking that the love of Jesus will open the eyes of all who worship Allah, that they will repent and turn to Jesus as Savior and Lord. We further ask that for all who refuse to repent, that you will strip them of all their evil intent for Israel and, like Haman’s intent for Mordecai, you will turn their evil plans back against them. Father, we ask that you continue to bless and guide Benjamin Netanyahu. Give him divine wisdom and anointed counsel. We ask that you strengthen the relationship between him and President Trump. We ask that together they will stand firm against the nations and groups that desire to harm and destroy Israel. We pray that you strengthen the alliance between Israel and the United States and bless their economic and military strategies.   We pray Lord for the peace of Jerusalem. We acknowledge that Jerusalem is the center of Your universe. Thank you, Lord, that the President of our nation has recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Father, we recognize that Jerusalem is Your holy city and belongs to You alone. We ask for the removal of the detestable dome that is devoted to satan, and that it be removed from your holy mountain We also ask that Your house be re-established on mount Zion. We await the day when we return with you to that holy mountain, Israel’s enemies will become Your footstool and all of Israel will be saved. Lord, we repent as a nation and as a people for the antisemitic practices that have swept across our nation, into our streets and across our college campuses. We ask that You bring to account all responsible for promoting this hatred against You and Your people. Bring them to repentance or judgement if they refuse to repent. In any case we ask that this hatred be rejected and halted in our nation.   Finally, Jesus, we ask that You rise up, oh Lion of the tribe of Judah, in holy indignation against Al Quadi, Hamas, Hutes, Al Shabab, Hizballah and all other satellites of the Islamic state. We have a blessed peace, and You give You praise, for You are Israels fortress and defense. We ask that You send Your anointed servants to minister the gospel and bring the people of Israel to saving knowledge of their Messiah Yashwa. All this we ask in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen 

Praying for the lost

As the day of the Lord’s return approaches, I am overwhelmed with anticipation, but equally afraid for those who will be caught unaware because they were asleep at the Grooms approach. (See the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew chapter 25). I have been reminded by the Holy Spirit of a vision that He gave me in 2001 when I was senior pastor at Faith Tabernacle in Ft. Lauderdale. I was leaving the church after service one Sunday. I was walking home, a short walk back to our apartment, just past the church playground. Halfway home I was given a vision. I saw a dark storm rolling across the horizon and God kept repeating louder and louder each time, with great urgency the words Get them in the ark! Get them in the ark! I said” Who Lord? Who are You talking about?” He answered “Your family. Get them in the ark because I am coming soon!” Then the vision lifted. What is the ark? The rapture. Just as in the days of Noah, God is coming in a storm the pour out His judgement. Yet His wrath is not appointed for His children. Like Noah (and Lot in his day) we will be taken out of His wrath, if indeed we are His children. There are many who do not believe a storm is coming. Many say God is only love and will not judge. Many say they believe a storm is coming but they refuse to believe that God has built an ark to save His people from the wrath meant for those who hate Him and serve Satan. They don’t believe we who are washed in the blood are worthy to escape God’s wrath. Therefore, they praise God with their lips but really don’t believe in the power of His blood to save or the promise of His grace to deliver. Make sure you are saved, delivered and looking with assurance that Jesus is coming to gather His Bride. Also make sure your family members, and all those Jesus has planted around you in His harvest field are ready, waiting and occupying until He returns to take us home. Let’s pray.  Father, I love You and I trust You that You have sealed me with Your Holy Spirit until the day You send Jesus to come gather His Bride. I am looking with great joy and anticipation at Your coming. I do not belong to this world, I am a stranger, an alien, a pilgrim and I long for that day that You come to bring me home. Yet Lord I also tremble with reverent fear at Your holiness and awesome presence. I dare not fall asleep in complacency, relax in my own good works or listen to the scoffers who scorn your promise and mock the hope You gave to rescue Your Bride from the wrath You will soon pour out on this sinful world. Help me daily to occupy until You come, being diligent to love You, keep Your commandments, preach Your word and love my neighbor as myself. Also, Lord I pray for those who will not listen and refuse the safety of the ark! Lord open their ears to hear, their eyes to see, their hearts to receive the promise of the rapture. Let them experience the hope You command us to share with each other. Encourage them to look up as their redemption draws near. Deliver them from demonic forces that have blinded their eyes and have stolen their hope. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation! Like faithful Noah help us, your church, to complete the work You have set before us, warn the lost of Your coming judgement and invite them to enter the safety and salvation of Your ark. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for divine wisdom to draw closer to the Lord

Father, I come to You in the name of my Savior, Jesus. Jesus instructed me to be meek and lowly even as He is. Jesus told me that I must be perfect as He is perfect. Jesus said that if I loved Him that I would keep His commandments. Jesus invited me to take His yoke upon me. Father, I am incapable of any of these assignments. I do not have the reverent fear of You that I need. I am a wild beast without discipline, and I have a heart that is full of pride that is unteachable! But I am willing to surrender to Your call, and where I am unwilling, I am willing to be made willing. Your promise, according to Your word, is to forgive me for my sin and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness, as I call upon Your name. Jesus save me and make me new. I willfully enter the disciplines You have set before me.  

Pour out to me Your wisdom. Reveal to me a deeper knowledge of who You are and open my understanding to Your sovereign Lordship over all things in my life. Shake my complacency with a deepened reverent fear of Your majesty. It is the beginning of my pursuit of wisdom. Father I also ask that You change my desires and appetites that seek the demands of my flesh and try to obtain security through being my own authority. Let Your disciplines direct my appetites and desires toward You, to surrender to Your lordship and to embrace a life of service to Your kingdom. Soften my heart. Deliver me from pride and jealousy that I may love the brethren and seek the advice and wisdom that is found in fellowship with Your people. As I continue this path, I will put my trust in Your promises and in Your power to pour out to me the wisdom I need to know and do Your perfect will. I ask all this in Jesus name. Amen. .

Prayer for public School Systems

Public schools began in our nation, like most public institutions, with pure and holy intentions. Like hospitals, penitentiaries and social services, public schools were instituted by the local churches. Before schools were formed in our nation parents taught their children at home. It was not the odd thing for families to do, as it is viewed today, it was the norm. As cultural demands increased on families, local churches took the responsibility of educating the children in their congregations, as a ministry to families. Once the population and expansion of our nation became overwhelming for the resources the local church the local, state and federal governments took over those responsibilities. Today my brothers and sisters, if you surrender your children to public schools, they are destined to become wards of the state at best and potentially become victims of Satan’s wiles. It’s almost mental, emotional and moral child abuse. Your children are God’s children, entrusted to you for a short season for the purpose of His kingdom. You dare not allow the government to educate them. Our public schools have become cesspools of woke philosophies, promoting sexual immorality, communism and indoctrination to a socialist world view. Everything perverse and demonic is accepted and promoted and anything Holy and of God is soundly rejected. There is no longer hope or salvation for public schools. It is time to come out from among them and be separate, and trust Jesus to give you the resources you need to train your own children in the way they should go. You can and must do this before it is too late. God has given you His Holy Spirit, His word, His wisdom and will meet your every need according to His riches. Trust Him with all your heart and He will direct your path. Let’s pray.   

Oh Father, I confess that I have been deceived and have put my faith and trust in people and institutions other than You. I have acted and made my decisions because of my fear and my conformity to the demands of the culture I live in. For my own convenience I surrendered Your children to be trained in the way they should go to the world. Please cleanse me and change my heart. Change my intent and help my unbelief. I never believed that I could train my children at home, nor did I see how I have been instructed to do so by Your word. Forgive me and reverse the course, bring to me and especially my children, deliverance, faith and the resources we need to train my children at home. Jesus, I stand in faith against the Godless institutions that pollute the minds of our children with lies, filth and political indoctrination. I ask for Your intervention to completely reverse their course or to dissolve them.  Help us, Your church, to rescue children, parents and families from these demonic influences. Call all teachers and administrators to faith in You and to a higher calling for their life here on earth. As we dare to pull our children out of public schools and train them at home, help us to bring the saving knowledge of Your gospels to all those who work in and support these institutes. I ask that You raise up Godly public servants, men of God that fear, love and obey You, to legislate laws to protect and assist Christians who obey Your word and train their children in at home. Give us the courage to swim against the current of public demands. I surrender the children You have given me into Your loving care. I pull down strongholds that influence and have brought into captivity school board members, teachers, administrators and local politicians that set policies and curriculum for our schools. We tear down lying spirits, spirits of error, perverse spirits, spirtits of divination and any other demonic powers that have captured our school systems and those who run them  In Jesus name, amen. 

Prayer for America

This was Jesus’ political stance; He looked Pilate dead in the face and proclaimed’ “You have no authority over me except that which my Father gives you”. It should be our political stance as well. We should submit to Godly authority and resist Satan. Let’s pray. 

 Father, we cry out to You for our nation. We plead the blood of Jesus over our corrupted culture and political leadership. We ask Your forgiveness for submitting ourselves to Satan and his servants. Forgive us for not resisting evil, for compromising with evil and surrendering the Kingdom authority we hold as Your ambassadors over our government and our culture and allowing the heathen to rage. Cleanse us and embolden us to revolt against the wicked and refuse to allow Satan to gain any more ground. Encourage us to choose righteousness when we enter the voting booths. Enlighten us to the truth about the choices set before us and Holy Spirit help us to choose what is the good and perfect will of our Father. Bring our nation back to the purity of the pursuit of Jesus and Your kingdom, for we have no King but Jesus! Please remove every politician from power of any type that supports abortion, homosexuality, Marxist ideals and those who worship government. Please remove them from the local school boards, courtrooms, state legislation, federal branches of government and from the presidency. I pray for the complete and utter failure and removal of those who oppose You, hate Israel and support those who call for Israel’s destruction. Remove all senators and congress people that support the evils that pervade the political parties. I ask that You raise up men of God who will love You, fear You, seek You and worship You to lead our nation. Put them in seats of authority from the schoolhouse to the White House. Raise up Your church to preach holiness and righteousness without compromise to our nation. Heal marriages, unite the family structure, protect the unborn and breathe revival across our land. All this we ask in Jesus mighty name. Amen!

Prayer for peace

Jesus, I live in a time of storms! But I know You already know that because You created me for this time I live in. I thank You that storms cannot chase me, I in fact chase them! You have made me more than a conqueror because You are with me. Forgive me for those times when I believed the threats of the storms that raged around me and those that raged inside of me. I obeyed their threats and fear rose in my heart. I forgot that You were with me, and I was with You. So, I thank You for the peace that You gave me! I did nothing to obtain it and I need nothing to retain it, for it is You that is the author and the finisher of my faith. I am in your hands, and You have allowed this storm to strengthen my resolve; for if I live it is for Christ, if I die it is for gain! I rest in the peace that you blanket my soul with, as I sink into its comfort and the assurance of Your promise I laugh at the storms and even look with anticipation to where the storms are going to bring me. Thank you, Father, that Jesus has placed me in Your hand, and nothing can touch my life without Your permission. Your peace You have given me, and I receive it with a joyful and grateful heart. In Jesus name. Amen 

Prayer to restore your first love

Father, I come running home to You in the saving name of Jesus. Holy Spirit lead me into the presence of my Lord! I long for those days when I sat at Your feet Lord, and we spoke heart to heart. I long for those times when I felt Your being so openly, heard your voice so clearly and understood Your call so readily. I miss You and miss resting in the fellowship of Your love and the joy of my salvation. 

Other loves have called me away. I confess to You that survival and self-preservation have dulled my senses and diminished my passion for Your presence. Forgive me Lord. I have been more enamored with what You bless me with than with who you are to me. I have allowed the cares of this world to turn my flame into a flicker. Reignite my passion into a blaze. You and You alone have the power to do this for me Lord. I cannot do it by my own strength. I confess that I listen more to politicians and world news than worship and the good news. Change my heart God! Fill my heart with a desire for You and Your fellowship, set a holy fire within me! Take all the things out of my life that distract me from spending time in Your word and in Your presence. I turn away from those things I have come to love as much or even more than You. I repent for wasting the precious time and resources that You have given me. Wash me clean. Strengthen me to do those first works I did in the beginning. Be my first love always, in Jesus’ name, amen. 

Prayer for the persecuted church

As 2025 beg1n, persecuted Christians around the world may not perceive or feel the sense of hope and renewal the new year often brings to many of us. Some, like Pastor Barnabas* are waking up in the same displacement camp they fled to four years ago when extremists attacked their Nigerian village. Others, like 9-year-old Rumana in Bangladesh, must still go to school where they feel isolated and bullied by their classmates. And nothing has changed for the estimated 50,000 to 70,000 North Korean believers in the country’s inhumane prison camps. These believers may not even know that a new year has come. For millions of Christians … our family … the new year means very little. 
But as God’s Church, we are called to pray and care for the displaced, the prisoner, the widow, the orphan, the sick and the poor—all those who risk and suffer for their decision to abide in Jesus and look to Him for their strength. As His people, we can reflect His light, praying that our persecuted brothers and sisters will look to Him to experience inner renewal, peace and sustaining hope that only He can bring. 
And we can pray boldly for change in exterior situations—for the loosening of state religious restrictions, for family members’ acceptance of believers’ decision to follow Christ, for protection from extremist group, for the release of the captives and much more. 
We can pray that in 2025, God will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland … that our family will know in their hearts and possibly see with their eyes that He is, indeed, doing a new thing in their lives.   25 prayers to pray with your persecuted family in 2025 

1 It can be difficult to see where God is at work in North Korea. In this new year, pray that God will give Christians (inside and outside the country) eyes to see His light in the midst of the darkness. Lord, we ask You to continue to answer prayers and speak to North Korean believers in seen and unseen ways.   

2 Pray for the 400,000 secret believers in North Korea. Ask God to give your brothers and sisters a chance to gather, read the Bible and worship with other Christians in 2025—and to do so safely. 
3 Thank God for our safe house ministry in a neighboring country where North Koreans like Joo Min* can meet Jesus and be strengthened to take the gospel back to their homeland. 
4 Somalia can be an incredibly dangerous place to follow Jesus. Ask God to walk with Somali Christians (both inside and outside the country) and give them hope, even when things seem hopeless. 
5 Pray that God would watch over Somali Christians who face violent attacks from Islamic extremist group Al Shabab. Ask Him to be their “place of safety” (2 Sam. 22:3). 
 
6 Libya remains a country divided, with groups grappling for control. Pray this tension won’t boil into war in 2025 that would further endanger believers. 
7 There are few churches in Libya, and converts from Islam are forced to follow Jesus in secret. Ask God to open doors in 2025 for believers to find life-giving community and grow in their walk with Christ 

8 The East African nation of Eritrea has one of the most notorious prison networks in the world. Pray for imprisoned believers in 2025 … that they would be released and not lose hope in these trials.   
9 2024 saw yet another mass arrest of Christians in Eritrea. Pray that in the coming year, these believers—and others like them—will be kept from all harm and ultimately, freed. 
10 In Yemen, it seems there’s never an end to violence. Pray that in 2025 God would bring peace and justice to Yemen, and that the cries of His people would be heard. 
11 Pray for Yemeni women’s ministry leader Zahra* who often talks to women who don’t yet know Christ. “This is the riskiest part of my ministry,” she says. “It’s why Yemeni women coming to Christ is really a miracle.” 
12 Pray for the millions of Nigerians who have been displaced by violence. Pray that God would guide them and give them tangible reminders of His closeness and truth that their hope is in Him.  
13 Pray that in 2025, God would work in the hearts of Nigerian government leaders, especially President Bola Tinubu—that they would be convicted and challenged to work to protect Christian citizens and communities. 
14 Pakistan’s notorious blasphemy laws continue to be used to falsely accuse and target Christians. Ask God to change the hearts and minds of Pakistani decision-makers to overturn these laws.   
15 Ask God to protect and preserve Christian girls and women in Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria and throughout the world who may be kidnapped and forced into marriage. 
16 In Sudan, Christians have been caught in the crossfire of civil war. Pray for peace in 2025. 
17 Ask God to be close to all of our brothers and sisters displaced from their homes by violence. Pray that He would hear the cries of the suffering and that 2025 would be a time of return and refreshment. 

18 Every year, pressure seems to increase for Chinese Christians. Pray that believers would experience growth in their faith in 2025, even as persecution rises. 
19 All believers in Afghanistan are secret Christians. Ask God to protect them. It’s impossible to live openly as a follower of Christ, so pray that the Lord will cover and preserve His people.   
20 Praise God for the 2024 election results in India. Ask Him to help the new coalition government protect the rights of all Indians, including Christians, this year. 
21 As an increasing number of Indian states tighten anti-conversion laws, pray that house church leaders will not be attacked or imprisoned. Ask God to be their sword and shield 22 Almost every Protestant church in Algeria has been forcibly closed, or fears they will be soon. Pray with church leaders that God will allow these places of worship to remain open and that shuttered churches will be reopened in 2025. 
23 Ask God to guide Iran’s new president, Masoud Pezeshkian, that he would pursue an openness to all minorities, including Christians. Pray for him by name today.  
24 As persecution rises, the Iranian church continues to grow; pray that God would bless this Kingdom multiplication and empower it to continue. 
25 Pray that throughout the world, suffering believers would put their hope and trust in God this year, knowing that He is doing a new thing.
