I See Sudden Heavy Rain Coming. Are You Ready?

What an interesting and crazy month March has been. I shared last month that as I prayed, I saw thick, black storm clouds coming in. I believe this symbolized the war with Iran. It has touched so many countries economically because of how the Strait of Hormuz has impacted the global energy market. Crypto has been impacted and will likely head lower.

As I prayed about April’s newsletter, my attention was being brought back to those clouds but now there is a heavy rain coming from them.

To understand the meaning of the heavy rain, I was directed back to the Scriptures to grasp the situations where there was heavy rain, who it affected, and why it happened.

The word I am sharing will be a heavy message for some and a joy for others. I’ve warned in previous newsletters that those who are walking in disobedience, a hard heart, or with a lukewarm faith need to repent or God will shake that from them with what’s coming. For those who are walking in full obedience and surrender, the blessings will be brighter in the midst of the dark days we are walking into.

Let’s start with the joy of the heavy rain for the faithful and obedient children of God.

1. The heavy rain represents abundant provision! (For some of us, it’ll come during barren financial conditions.)

Joel 2:23-25 – “Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before. 24 “The threshing floors shall be full of grain; the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.

2. The heavy rain represents exaltation. Before the rain came, Noah faithfully walked with God but was a fool to the world. It wasn’t until God shut him in the ark and God brought the flood waters that Noah was lifted high above the earth.

Genesis 7:12, 18 – …And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights… 18 The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters.

3. The rain will expose that their foundation was built on the Rock which is Christ.

Matthew 7:24-25 – Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

Now here’s the sad reality that I believe many in the Church will be confronted with.

1. The heavy rain is confirmation of sin and repentance is needed.

Ezra 10:9-14 – Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin assembled at Jerusalem within the three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month. And all the people sat in the open square before the house of God, trembling because of this matter and because of the heavy rain. 10 And Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, “You have broken faith and married foreign women, and so increased the guilt of Israel. 11 Now then make confession to the LORD, the God of your fathers and do his will. Separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign wives.” 12 Then all the assembly answered with a loud voice, “It is so; we must do as you have said. 13 But the people are many, and it is a time of heavy rain; we cannot stand in the open. Nor is this a task for one day or for two, for we have greatly transgressed in this matter. 14 Let our officials stand for the whole assembly. Let all in our cities who have taken foreign wives come at appointed times, and with them the elders and judges of every city, until the fierce wrath of our God over this matter is turned away from us.”

2. The heavy rain can bring floods and drown people. This will be a very painful process for those who still don’t want to repent.

Genesis 7:4 – For in seven days I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing that I have made I will blot out from the face of the ground.”

3. The heavy rain exposes the weak, sandy foundation from being built upon the flesh and/or the world. Their lives will feel like it’s falling apart.

Matthew 7:26-27 – And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Why is all this happening?

1. People will reap what they have sowed.

Galatians 6:7-8 – Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

2. I believe that God is cleaning up His Church right now to get His Bride ready for His return.

1 Peter 4:17 – For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

3. The wealth transfer is primarily for the saving of souls so that the Gospel can be proclaimed to all the nations. If we have faithfully followed the Lord, He will give us a financial part to play in the end times army.

Matthew 14:24 – And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

It appears the Church is moving into two extremes: those who will be rewarded for being faithful and those who will be disciplined. Since Jesus’ return is imminent, there is no more time for disobedience, hardness, rebellion, or being lukewarm. We must be red hot or cold. Many in the Church are not ready for His return and in His mercy, I believe He’s getting us ready. Pain has a way of helping us be red hot for Christ.
